Major Transactions

Lighthouse Law has extensive experience advising on complex technology, outsourcing, procurement and transformation transactions, including many of the largest and most strategically significant projects undertaken across South Africa, Africa, the Middle East and the United Kingdom over the past decade.

  • Lighthouse supported a leading multinational FMCG company in the procurement of renewable energy solutions for manufacturing sites across South Africa and the rest of Africa. The programme formed part of the client's strategy to transition its operations to renewable energy while advancing its ESG objectives and delivering long-term cost savings.

Our role included supporting the procurement process, engaging with bidders, negotiating power purchase agreements (PPAs), advising on regulatory and commercial issues, and assisting with negotiations involving national electricity providers across multiple jurisdictions.

  • Lighthouse advised a major African financial institution on a full-scope facilities management procurement and outsourcing transaction with a value exceeding R5 billion.

Our team supported the sourcing process, commercial negotiations and contract development, helping the client establish a long-term outsourcing arrangement aligned with its operational, commercial and governance requirements.

  • Lighthouse advised a leading pharmaceutical company on the transformation of its global network environment through the implementation of SD-WAN technology and a standardised unified communications and collaboration platform.

The project involved the procurement and implementation of new technology solutions across multiple jurisdictions and required close alignment between legal, technical, operational and commercial stakeholders.

  • Lighthouse advised a leading telecommunications operator on the licensing, implementation, support and maintenance arrangements for a next-generation billing platform as part of a transaction valued at more than R2.5 billion.

Our team supported the negotiation of complex technology agreements and assisted the client in addressing the commercial, operational and governance requirements associated with a business-critical technology transformation programme.

  • Lighthouse advised a UK-based travel company on the transformation of its global technology infrastructure. Following the termination of an existing outsourcing arrangement, the client adopted a new sourcing strategy involving separate agreements with specialist providers for network and telecommunications services.

Lighthouse drafted and negotiated the new contractual framework and supported the client throughout the transition to the revised operating model.

  • Lighthouse advised the same travel business on a strategic alliance that significantly expanded its accommodation offering and enhanced the technology platforms underpinning its online, retail and contact centre operations.

Our team drafted and negotiated the transaction documents and provided strategic advice and project management support throughout the implementation and roll-out of the alliance.

  • Lighthouse supported a leading food and packaged goods manufacturer on a multi-million Rand network infrastructure procurement programme.

Our role included supporting the RFP process, advising on service levels and service credit mechanisms, and leading the negotiation of the master services agreement and associated work orders governing the delivery of the services. Particular focus was placed on ensuring that the commercial, operational and performance management mechanisms aligned with the client's long-term objectives.Lighthouse supported a leading food and packaged goods manufacturer on a multi-million Rand network infrastructure procurement programme.
