Lighthouse was engaged by a global pharmaceutical company to support a major technology transformation programme valued in excess of R350 million.
The objective of the programme was to implement industry-leading technology that would enable the client to centrally govern a more standardised, secure and future-proof technology environment while delivering significant cost savings. Lighthouse advised on the procurement and contracting strategy required to select a global service integrator to lead the transformation programme and manage a complex multi-vendor services environment.
Our role included analysing the client's existing technology environment, developing the project's commercial and operational baseline, designing and managing the procurement process through the RFI, RFP and BAFO stages, supporting supplier evaluation and leading the associated contracting activities. We also assisted with the multi-jurisdictional rollout of the programme, ensuring alignment between procurement, commercial and legal workstreams throughout the project lifecycle.

Our role included advising on sourcing options, supplier strategy, commercial structures and governance models to support the client's long-term network transformation objectives. Working alongside technical, procurement and business stakeholders, we helped evaluate available options and develop an approach that balanced operational requirements, commercial outcomes and risk management considerations.
In addition to strategic advice, Lighthouse supported the implementation of the chosen approach through supplier engagement, contract structuring and ongoing governance support.
