Justine Hitiyaremye

Justine was born and raised in Cape Town, where she matriculated from Norman Henshilwood High School. She pursued her LLB degree at the University of the Western Cape (UWC). During her time at UWC, Justine served as a mentor in the Top Achievers Programme, guiding first-year LLB students in their transition from high school to university life.

In addition to her mentorship role, Justine worked as an administrative assistant for UWC’s campus radio, uDubs Radio, as well as for FPC, a non-profit organization that provides career guidance to youth. In her final year of studies, Justine participated in the SAC-IAWJ Women Judges Programme, where she had the opportunity to shadow court proceedings and receive one-on-one mentorship from experienced magistrates and judges.

Currently, she serves as the Secretary of the Cape Town Candidate Attorneys Association, further showcasing her commitment to professional growth and leadership in the legal field.

Outside of work, Justine enjoys staying active and dedicates much of her time to reading novels. She is thrilled to join an innovative firm like Lighthouse Law, where she aims to deepen her expertise in commercial law with a particular focus on data protection and PPAs. Justine looks forward to broadening her skill set and learning from the accomplished team at Lighthouse Law.
