Jodie Duraan
Jodie completed her Bachelor of Commerce and LLB degree at the University of Stellenbosch and is currently completing her practical vocational training at Lighthouse Law. During her undergraduate studies, she participated in various Moot Courts and served as a Legal Representative for the university’s Student Tribunal for Dispute Resolution, where she was awarded a merit achievement by the Student Court for social justice advocacy, conflict resolution, and governance. She was also invited to join the Golden Key International Honour Society based on academic merit and received an Undergraduate Excellence Award for placing in the top five percent of senior law students at the University of Stellenbosch.
Jodie served as the Deputy Head of the Stellenbosch Chapter of the United Nations Association of South Africa’s Women Empowerment Subcommittee, leading initiatives that promote inclusion, safety, and awareness. She had the opportunity to complete her final semester of studies abroad at the University of KU Leuven in Belgium, gaining valuable exposure to European law.
Jodie is excited to embark her legal profession at Lighthouse Law where the firm’s commitment to excellence, innovation, collaboration, and purpose provides an ideal environment for growth. She looks forward to learning from Lighthouse Law’s experienced and dynamic team of legal professionals.
Outside of the legal profession, she enjoys reading, spending time outdoors in nature, and travelling.
