Renewable Energy
Lighthouse lawyers have genuine depth of expertise in this sector. Our recent work includes supporting a major multinational beverage company with an Africa-wide roll-out of renewable energy power supply agreements in support of the client's strategy to ensure that 100% of its electricity requirements at its manufacturing sites across Africa come from renewable sources by 2025.
As part of this roll-out, the Lighthouse Law team is providing legal support in the planning, negotiation and execution phases of more than thirty renewable energy projects, including solar, biogas and mixed gas-to-power, across eleven jurisdictions in Sub-Saharan Africa.
The support being provided by our team includes the drafting, negotiating and reviewing of multi-year on-site and offsite power purchase agreements, supporting negotiations with national electricity producers relating to “sleeving” agreements and supporting the client's interactions with its suppliers.
