Review, assess and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts on behalf of clients.
Work on technology transactions, including software licences, SaaS agreements and data processing arrangements.
Apply legal knowledge in a practical, commercially sensible way, giving clients clear and useable advice.
Act as a day-to-day point of contact for clients, communicating clearly and responding promptly to their needs.

Experience: Two to five years post-qualification experience in commercial law, with a focus on reviewing, assessing and negotiating contracts.
Technology Experience: Experience with technology transactions would be an advantage.
Skills: Technically excellent, with the ability to apply legal skills in a practical way.
Attributes: Highly motivated, keen to take responsibility, and a strong team player with excellent communication skills.

Management Accountant

The Management Accountant will be responsible for overseeing key financial and accounting functions within the firm. This role requires a detail-oriented and analytical professional with experience in financial reporting, payroll management, invoicing, and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will work closely with external accountants, ensure accurate financial records, and facilitate efficient financial operations.

Financial Management & Reporting
Prepare and manage monthly financial reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Work with external accountants to compile and review annual financial statements.
Prepare and analyse financial data for management decision-making.
Invoicing & Revenue Management
Collaborate with legal and operations teams to ensure that all billable work is correctly recorded and invoiced in a timely manner.
Ensure that all necessary supporting documents (contracts, time records, disbursement reports, etc.) are properly collated and attached to invoices.
Issue invoices in accordance with client agreements and fee structures.
Monitor outstanding invoices and proactively follow up on unpaid amounts to ensure timely collection.
Maintain an up-to-date aging report of outstanding invoices and escalate overdue accounts as necessary.
Assist in reconciling client accounts, identifying discrepancies, and resolving billing disputes efficiently.
Improve billing processes and efficiencies, ensuring compliance with firm policies and industry standards.
Payroll & Compliance
Oversee and process payroll, ensuring accuracy and adherence to PAYE, UIF, and statutory deductions.
Manage SARS payments and correspondence, including VAT, corporate tax, and payroll submissions.
Company Secretarial & Regulatory Support
Assist with company secretarial duties, including maintaining statutory records and ensuring compliance with CIPC (Companies and Intellectual Property Commission) requirements.
Ensure compliance with legal and financial regulations applicable to the firm.
Accounts Payable & General Financial Oversight
Manage supplier payments and expense reimbursements.
Monitor cash flow and financial health of the firm.
Maintain accurate financial records and support internal audits when necessary.

Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a professional services or legal environment.
Strong knowledge of South African tax regulations and compliance requirements.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, Pastel, QuickBooks).
Experience in payroll processing and SARS submissions.
Proven experience in accounts receivable management and invoicing.
